Successful candidate must be a self starter interested in providing leadership to ongoing financial accounting issues and process improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the accounting and financial reporting for various aspects of the company's operations including: Technical US GAAP and financial reporting resource for a variety of financial accounting issues including, but not limited to, consolidations, investment accounting, derivatives, business combinations, pensions and postretirement benefit plans and restructuring. Oversee the company's effort to convert from US GAAP to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) over the coming years. This candidate will participate in a leadership role in this initiative. Oversite of accounting and financial reporting issues at several regions, Review of Corporate SEC filings as they pertain to the business unit. Opportunity provides visibility to a wide range of World Headquarters and Business Unit financial and general management. Leveraging process improvement tools to improve key processes on a daily basis is required in many aspects of this position. A strong knowledge of and ability to apply internal controls is required as this position is integral to maintaining full Sarbanes Oxley Sec 404 compliance. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Undergraduate degree in accounting. CPA preferred, and MBA or seeking a MBA is a plus. A minimum of 8 years professional work experience in accounting or strongly related field is desirable. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of technical accounting (US GAAP) and financial reporting issues. In addition, the candidate should possess strong communication skills with the demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of world headquarters, parent and business unit staff and management. It is also preferred that the candidate be a Certified Public Accountant. A MBA or seeking a MBA is a plus.
