Mgr III Technical & Policy Accountant | Raytheon | Mckinney, TX
Job Description
Provide technical accounting research and advice to
NCS Business Units for unique and complex business transactions and
recommend proper accounting treatment in accordance with Generally
Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
The candidate must be capable of resolving complex accounting issues and
document thought process supporting accounting conclusions in white
papers with references to GAAP and Company Policies.
Review monthly financial results to ensure proper accounting for all NCS
accounting centers, and ability to detect material errors and
misstatements from an accounting perspective. This position requires
strong GAAP knowledge and analytical abilities. Frequent technical GAAP
experience in a large publicly traded company environment, where
technical accounting issues are seen more frequently, will be good
experience for this position.
Incumbent will be a Raytheon and NCS policy subject matter expert and
provide policy guidance, business advice and accounting interpretation
to the NCS community including acquisition management, program
management, program finance, financial planning & analysis and others.
Interact with customers and management in a highly professional manner.
The job will require supporting management's agenda, strategic vision,
goals and initiatives while working in a fast paced environment with
changing priorities.
Individual will be actively involved in Raytheon's initiative supporting
GAAP and International Financial Regulations (IFRS) convergence.
Job Requirements: BBA or BS with major in Finance and prior experience
in GAAP analysis and interpretation
Years of Experience: Minimum of 10
Special Skills/Certification : CPA and require an in-depth knowledge of
accounting standards.
Desired Skills/Education: Experience working for a "Big 4" accounting
firm and/or Security Exchange Commission (SEC) experience. Prior Big 4
and/or SEC experience preferred. IFRS experience is desirable. MBA
preferred.
